The Mama Sutra
This is an early cartoon about motherhood, that eventually morphed into the book The Food of Love: your formula for successful breastfeeding. We didn’t put the picture of me feeding a baby while driving a truck into the book because the publishers were, understandably, concerned about safety. Hey, the truck was moving at between 0mph and 2mph, and there was nowhere to pull over, so I still think it was safer for me to feed him than to have a nervous breakdown listening to him scream. I was genuinely wearing a hat saying ‘MotherTrucker’ at the time.
